About the Job:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR, answering employee questions, processing departmental invoices, updating HR resources, drafting HR emails, and responding to requests for verification of employment.
  • Handle HR information changes, conduct audits of HR programs, and ensure legal compliance.
  • Schedule and conduct new hire orientation and onboarding, ensuring timely completion of paperwork, and plan new hire events.
  • Run the annual Summer Internship Program, administer transit benefits, and coordinate staff training initiatives.
  • Support HR events like Open Enrollment, Benefits Fair, Wellness Week, the Annual Awards Ceremony, and staff appreciation events, including marketing, scheduling, and communication.
About You:
  • 1+ years of HR experience, especially with a distribution email/ticketing system.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Proficient in UKG software, MS Excel, and COBA procedures.
  • Expertise in planning, organizing, prioritizing, and managing own workload effectively.
  • Ability to be confidential and relate effectively to others, fostering positive relationships.
About the Position:
  • $23/hr-$25/hr while temporary
  • $52K-$55K, when permanent
  • Hybrid on-site in Washington, DC.
