Objective: To assure that all railcars are properly prepared for loading and shipping in accordance with all safety requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices
Functions: Will direct car cleaner, maintain accurate switch information, car condition reports, personally inspect all cars prior to loading and release for shipment.
Duties:
- Assure cars are properly placed by switch crew and chocked
- Follow proper railcar procedures set by company policy
- Complete daily track list with accurate & timely information
- Checking and setting brakes on all cars
- Prep cars for loading which includes completing car condition report, proper sealing of car, applying sanitary hatch covers and final inspection prior to loading.
- Clean cars when necessary
- Set up all loading and suction heads
- Maintain all product and suction hoses in a sanitary manner
- Capping all hoses and storing on proper rack when not in use
- Maintain and stay current with all Final Product Zone inspection and documentation requirements.
- Assist utility with prep and loading of tote orders.
- Assist with receiving warehouse shipments following receiving procedures.
- Unload supplemental and rework flour following receiving procedures and documentation.
- Clean and maintain rail yard area
- Cleaning as assigned by Master Sanitation Schedule
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Operating shuttlewagon and directing rail movement
Physical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, multiple times per day
- Climb ladder, step and extension
- Able to lift to 50 pounds and exert 20 pounds of force
- Frequently stand, walk, rotate, bend/stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance and reach at shoulder level and below shoulder level, 8-12 hours/day
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a dust mask
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.
