Description

Job Summary:

The Production Scheduler is responsible for ensuring timely and efficient movement of materials, parts, and finished products through the manufacturing process. This role involves coordinating with various departments, tracking orders, resolving delays, and maintaining accurate records to support production schedules and meet customer delivery deadlines.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Order Coordination

  • Review and prioritize manufacturing orders to ensure timely processing.
  • Coordinate with production, purchasing, inventory control, and shipping departments to facilitate the flow of materials and products.
Tracking and Monitoring
  • Monitor the status of orders and materials throughout the production process.
  • Use enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to track orders, update statuses, and identify potential delays.
Problem Resolution
  • Identify and resolve issues causing delays in the production process.
  • Communicate with suppliers and vendors to expedite the delivery of critical materials.
  • Work with production supervisors and team leaders to reallocate resources as needed to meet deadlines.
Communication
  • Provide regular updates to management on the status of orders and any potential bottlenecks.
  • Communicate effectively with team members across departments to ensure alignment and address any concerns promptly.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of order status, material movements, and production schedules.
  • Prepare reports on production progress, delays, and other key metrics for management review.
Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
  • Suggest and implement changes to improve the order expediting process and overall production workflow.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a role involving order management or expediting.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred
