Located on the banks of the Ohio river in Augusta, KY, just east of Cincinnati, OH, our distillery is in the start up phase with the construction and build out of our distilling operations and visitors center well underway. Position Summary

The Distillery Supervisor will play a pivotal role in overseeing the construction, development, and operationalization of our distillery facility. They will work closely with various stakeholders, including the President, General Contractor, Architect, Engineers, and support groups, to ensure the successful completion of the distillery project. Additionally, the Distillery Supervisor will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of procedures, managing manufacturing processes, ensuring safety and compliance standards, optimizing workflow efficiency, and maintaining quality standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Construction Oversight :
    • Take the lead role in overseeing the construction process for the distillery, ensuring compliance with PID's and regulations to produce Bourbon Whiskey.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to address construction-related issues and ensure timely completion of the project.
  • Manufacturing Process Management:
    • Assist the President in developing, implementing, and managing procedures for all aspects of the manufacturing process.
    • Coordinate with support groups to ensure seamless transition from construction to start-up.
    • Oversee grain handling, stillage removal, and equipment handling procedures.
    • Ensure safety of all workers and compliance with safety regulations.
    • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure cost-effective production of Bourbon Whiskey.
    • Develop programs for inventory management and timely ordering of supplies.
  • Workforce Management:
    • Work with the President to ensure that the workforce hired to operate the distillery aligns with the company's culture and ethics.
    • Foster a fun and healthy workplace environment conducive to productivity and employee satisfaction.
  • Workflow Optimization:
    • Establish workflow and assembly methods to maximize efficiency of manufacturing operations.
    • Direct workforce utilization and continually monitor manufacturing performance to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Leadership and Accountability:
    • Demonstrate leadership and accountability within the manufacturing division.
    • Collaborate with the President and Program Management Officer to evaluate the success of production efforts and make necessary adjustments.
  • Operational Tasks :
    • Operate automated distiller spirits processes using a PLC-based computer program and HMI.
    • Possess a full understanding of mechanical processes, including the operation of valves throughout the facility

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a distillery or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and regulations.
  • Knowledge of distillery operations, including grain handling, stillage removal, and equipment handling.
  • Familiarity with safety and compliance standards in manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, problem-solve, and make decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in operating PLC-based computer programs and HMIs.
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical processes.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in various environments, including confined spaces.
  • Willingness to undergo training and certification as required by company policies and regulations.
