Position Title: Research Associate, Gene Therapy


Salary: $80,000-100,000.


We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate to join our dynamic team focused on the design and development of novel nanoparticles composed of nucleic acids, proteins, and lipids. The Research Associate will contribute to cutting-edge research aimed at advancing drug delivery systems and other innovative applications.


Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cell-culture and cell-based assays for lipid nanoparticle formulation
  • Design and develop gene therapy constructs, including selecting appropriate genes and regulatory elements.
  • Conduct cell culture experiments to test the efficacy and safety of gene therapy constructs.
  • Evaluate gene expression and therapeutic outcomes using techniques such as qPCR, Western blotting, and ELISA.
  • Perform in vivo studies to assess the delivery, expression, and therapeutic effect of gene therapies.
  • Perform characterization assays and conduct gene expression studies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records.
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze data, interpret results, and prepare research reports.
  • Present findings at team meetings and contribute to scientific publications.


Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 2 years of industry experience
  • Proficient in mammalian cell-culture.
  • Proficient in plasmid cloning, transfecting and transducing cell lines
  • Experience in next-generation sequencing (NGS), qPCR, ddPCR, western blot, and ELISA.
  • Experience with in vivo models for evaluating gene therapy efficacy and safety.
  • Experience with electroporation methodology.
  • In-depth knowledge of gene therapy principles, including gene editing, gene delivery, and vector development.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary people and external partners.
