Wagner's RunWalk is a locally owned and operated athletic shoe store in Tuscaloosa, AL. Wagner's Shoes was originally founded in 1953, and while much has changed over the past 71 years, Wagner's is still rooted in family values. The brand has grown into two different divisions: Wagner's Retail and Wagner's Team. Wagner's Retail encompasses three different shoe stores: a running specialty store, a family shoe store and an Athlete's Foot franchise. Wagner's Team produces custom goods for schools, businesses, and organizations.
Wagner's RunWalk strives to provide the best quality footwear in the latest trends, all the while providing the same old-fashioned customer service given at the very first Wagner's store in 1953.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Wagner's RunWalk is seeking a community-focused, values-driven, Store Manager to oversee daily operations of the store. The primary responsibilities for this position will be to oversee a part-time staff of around 15 employees, manage merchandising, and provide outstanding customer service. In addition to overseeing store operations, this individual will be working closely with Wagner's leadership to assist with all aspects of the business including e-commerce, inventory, and purchasing. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and oversee operations of the Wagner's RunWalk store (Physical & Digital)
- Lead, manage and develop a team of 15 employees
- Create weekly schedules for the entire team; ensuring all shifts are appropriately staffed
- Maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere for customers to be welcomed into
- Oversee community management and events
- Keep the e-commerce store updated with accurate inventory and pricing information
- Work closely with Wagner's leadership to ensure growth, profitability, and brand standards
- Be a brand ambassador for the store and the brand, develop relationships within the community
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- 2+ years of management experience
- Athletic or running background preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think like an owner; entrepreneurial spirit
- Servant heart; possesses humility and willingness to jump in where needed
- Ability to lead, manage, and hold people accountable
- Personable; prioritizes connection with the team
- Possess high energy to lead the store and serve customers
