**Description**

To accomplish this it will require them to:

- Safely operate in an enclosed paint booth environment

- Use math skills to count/verify quantities. Accurately match documents and part numbers with paint samples.

- Be familiar with paint codes and paint mixing software and equipment

- Efficiently operate computer and mixing equipment

**PRIMARY ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Work in a safe, and courteous manner.

* Wear all Personal Protective Equipment required for specific tasks

* **Preparation for paint:**

* Chemically prepare all materials to be painted

* Finesse doors with various hand tools such as buffer, sanding blocks, and DA sander

* Load unpainted doors and fixtures; pre-clean doors with chemicals and rinses.

* Dry and mask off doors to prevent over-spray.

* Mix various paints using computer scale to exact customer color match.

* **Paint product:**

* Paint doors using HVLP gravity gun. Quality must be consistent automotive grade finish.

* Maintain and clean all paint equipment.

* Properly handle waste cleaner, waste paint, and waste solvent.

* Must wear paint suits, respirator, protective gloves, apron and boots.

* **Other assigned duties:**

* Assist in implementation of process improvements and quality assurance.

* Assist or lead in inventory control for paint department.

* Read blue prints to assemble doors to customer specification.

* Cross train in all stations within Roll Up Doors Department

* Organize and clean department as required by supervisor.

* Additional duties as assigned

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:**

* High School Diploma /?GED or higher level education and 3 years experience or the equivalent combination.

* Working knowledge of all aspects of single stage automotive painting including all associated equipment and processes

* Math proficiency Accuracy in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Accuracy in computing ratios, rates, and percentages. Accuracy in mathematical reasoning to calculate product needed to complete production requirements.

* Measuring proficiency Accuracy in the use and reading of measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, depth gauges, etc.

* Reading comprehension Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and safety instructions, procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

* Proficient computer skills (email, MRP/ERP, internet, etc.)

* Forklift license and operating experience

**NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Keep work area clean and organized (includes paint and mixing area, storage area, hazardous and non-hazardous waste areas)

* Participate in company Safety and Lean programs

* Perform other duties as assigned.
