Job Details
The Assistant Manager of Quality is responsible for facilitating process quality initiatives in the Quality Department. The incumbent evaluates process quality concerns, uses various problem-solving tools, and develops countermeasures to ensure compliance with customer requirements and IATF/ISO standards.

- Participates in process quality initiatives including, but not limited to IATF16949 and ISO 9001 certification and assists in maintenance and improvement of current quality systems.
- Collaborates with other engineers and customers to facilitate flawless new product or new process launches.
- Evaluates nonconforming material and reports supplier problems or trends.
- Controls product quality through the development and use of Process Failure Mode Affect Analysis (PFMEA) Control Plans, Production Process Flow
- Charts Statistical Process Control (SPC) factors, Operator Work Instructions, and Quality Alerts.
- Resolves supplier quality issues, completes internal process root cause analysis, manages production part containment, and drives corrective actions at suppliers.
- Participates in internal LPA (Layered Process Audits) and clearly communicates findings to all responsible parties.
- Participates in establishing effective corrective action (8D or 5-Why) to address defective quality in all products.
- Prepares additional documentation at the customer's request and ensures that all internal and external communications are delivered in a timely manner.
- Makes initial quality decisions on products of questionable quality based on part prints, part specifications, fit, and functionality in accordance with customer requirements.
- Assists in development and execution of containment procedures for questionable product quality, including internal and customer driven sorts.
- Works with Manufacturing to develop rework procedures for questionable product quality.
- Reads and interprets drawings and manufacturing aides.
- Performs internal process audit, internal process verification, 8D reporting, etc.
- Performs assembly/repairs on all products inside and outside of vehicles, presents countermeasures to the internal team and or to the customer.
- Participates in continuous improvement through cost reduction, overall quality, and process design improvement.

Required Education & Experience:- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical Field
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:- Must be goal oriented, customer focused, and results driven
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
- Proven experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Education & Experience:- Automotive manufacturing experience
- Korean Bi-lingual
- Working knowledge of 8D, 5 Why, and six sigma
- Minimum over 5 years of hands-on experience as a Manufacturing Quality Specialist
