Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) - Part-time* or Full-Time Join our team of dedicated staff and volunteers in the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. We are an award-winning, non-profit rescue center, established for over 20 years, nestled in the beautiful center valley of rural Quilcene, WA. Our Mission is to provide safe harbor and rehabilitation for injured, neglected, abused or abandoned animals. We find loving homes for all adoptable animals, permanent sanctuary for unadoptable domestic animals, and we run a successful release program for rehabilitated wild animals. Our rotating residents are a wonderful mixture of farm animals and poultry, equine, lizards, turtles, birds, raptors, emu, rabbits, raccoons, coyotes, beaver, otter, deer, minks, rats, opossum, snakes, dogs and cats. Once we even had a starving mountain lion check herself in! Center Valley Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is a place where miracles happen every day! Working with us will expose you to a fascinating variety of large and small animal species in a never-boring schedule of vet tech tasks and responsibilities. You will be working side by side with our Director - an LVT, Licensed Rehabilitator - in a fully equipped medical center on our 30-acre property. You will join a fun team of can-do, knowledgeable and appreciative people who are totally committed to the work, whether they are dedicated staff or valuable volunteers. We offer a competitive salary ($22-28/hr) based on experience. We also provide flexibility of choice in working hours and days of the week. *The part time position can be anything from 4 days/wk to 1 day/month - Let us know what you want. RV accommodation may be available if needed. Position requirements: Must be licensed. Responsibilities include: Working with rotating team of volunteer veterinarians Adhering to all safety protocols for isolation and intake animals Providing check-ups for all species of animals Keeping vaccinations updated Performing intake and regular health assessments Assisting with surgeries including spay/neuter clinics Emergency and critical care of all species Emergency surgery support X-rays, lab work (in-house and out) Dentals, dental x-rays, preventative medicine Maintaining records and log book Practicing verbal and written communication with team members If you are looking for a meaningful career where every action you take and every effort you make saves one more animal (and perhaps one more human), this could be your dream job come true.
