Miller Survey (MS) has a full-time Survey Technician opportunity. This role supports the survey manager and survey team in a wide variety of land surveying projects for land development. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Responsibilities:
- Verify accuracy of field survey data including measurements and calculations conducted on survey projects.
- Review and process results of field survey data including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features and boundaries.
- Search public records to obtain information about property boundaries and areas to be surveyed.
- Prepare metes and bounds descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, easements or other legal documents.
- Perform quality control checks of plats and drawings prepared by other technicians.
- Ensure schedules and productivity objectives set by a supervisor for preparation of survey plats and drawings are achieved.
- Review potential survey project RFP/bids and prepare cost proposals.
- Produce CAD drawings to include boundary surveys, topographic surveys, land title surveys, and ALTA/ACSM land title surveys.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years' survey tech experience using AutoCAD formats and preparing plats, easements and topographic surveys
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Carlson
- Solid listening, writing and verbal communications skills
- Ability to take direction, work independently, and work well with a team
- Knowledge of land surveying techniques, principals and standards
- Ability to review potential survey project RFP/bids and prepare cost proposals.
- Surveyor in Training (SIT) preferred but not required
