Job Summary:
The Manager, Employee Relations ensures employee focused policies and procedures are executed across the agency while assisting in the execution of business unit strategies and objectives through open and transparent communication, coaching, and counsel. The Manager, Employee Engagement is expected to:

  • Assess and anticipate potential outcomes that emerge from decisions made by the BU leaders.
  • Provide HR support to organization change initiatives within the business unit as well as leadership coaching in people related matters.
  • Provide coaching and support to business unit managers regarding OD and employee relations.
  • Oversee and assign all HR Investigations
  • Oversee and track all termination documentation ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
  • Manage, coach, develop and counsel Human Resources Business Partner team
  • Manage all responses to employee related legal matters, severance agreements, etc. in collaboration with retained counsel.
  • Assists in development of people metrics dashboard for the Agency
  • Evaluates Employee Relations processes and procedures for continuous process improvement
  • Develop and maintain data tracking and reporting of employee relations activities.
  • Create appropriate escalation and updates to HR leadership and ELT about employee relation themes
  • Contribute to HR organizational initiatives including employee engagement survey, performance reviews, leadership development trainings, etc.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to travel across Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
  • 2+ years in HR role of similar responsibility and scope.
  • Successful completion of a background check that meets Agency standards.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and insurance that meets Agency standards.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years management experience
  • HR certification similar to SPHR or SHRM-SCP
