Description

RBH is now offering sign-on bonus opportunities for qualifying professionals!
Richmond Behavioral Health (RBH) is seeking to hire a dynamic Community Focus Team (CFT) Clinician to join our team!
Richmond Behavioral Health, in partnership with the Richmond Police Department (RPD) is developing a team to support a collaborative effort by public safety officials and service providers to identify high utilizers of emergency services who may have a significant behavioral health issue that contributes to frequent need for those services. The Community Focus Team (CFT) in Richmond, VA will connect these individuals with treatment and support to promote recovery and through these efforts reduce the risk of harm to these individuals and to public safety. In spite of a comprehensive array of criminal justice/behavioral health initiatives along the Sequential Intercept continuum in Richmond, there remains a significant contingent of individuals who are not successfully engaged in treatment and support services, leading to high, often unnecessary utilization of emergency services. The proposed CRT project will address the needs of these individuals. The CRT will routinely review the frequency of emergency service/public safety calls and evaluate those with higher-than-average frequency for unmet needs. Such needs might include non-emergent medical, mental health, substance abuse, social, financial, or mobility-related concerns.
The Community Focus Team (CFT) consists of a partnership between mental health emergency service providers and the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA). The CFT supports an overall effort to expand specialized behavioral health strategies tailored to meet the needs of people with behavioral/mental health concerns in the Richmond community. The CFT aims to reduce the number of people with mental health issues in the jail system; to improve information sharing and coordination, as appropriate, across systems and service providers; and to reduce overall costs relating to people with mental or behavioral health concerns, including the use of emergency services. Clinicians will work in close partnership with first responders, responding to calls involving people who suffer from mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorders. Clinicians will assist people in crisis and provide the most effective services for resolution. Clinicians will collaborate to provide treatment in a format that best decreases current stressors and replaces them with long term community-based supports. CFT will also help identify community resources, alternative treatment options, and long-term community supports in any area identified by the individual.
