Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor to be based out of Santa Paula, CA. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for managing the overall warehouse and support logistics operations.This includes planning the warehouse layout design, order processing systems, logistics, and sufficient inventory level/ back-order management while also ensuring the consistent inbound/outbound deliveries, providing continual improvement and establish strong teamwork ethic.

The ideal candidate should have Hand-on supervisor with a strong background in warehouse and logistics in a manufacturing setting with five plus years of experience as a supervisor. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

What you'll do:

  • Oversees and supervises a team of ten employees and drivers to make sure all items are prepared, shipped, and received on time while complying with company policy.
  • Lead shipping and receiving team, manage schedules, daily tasks to meet targets and hold employees accountable for delivery performance, on hand inventory.
  • Responsible for managing financial transactions related to shipping services, ensure weights are correctly posted, that correct charges are applied, shipments are moved from shipping points to storage areas and resolve issues with shipping orders.
  • Track daily metric, and KPI's. Coach staff for productivity, quality, service requirements, inventory control and safety goals.
  • Conduct regular inventory cycle count and reconciliation to ensure adequate supplies to meet the company's production goals. Report inventory discrepancies to management.
  • Resolve daily operational challenges, research inefficiencies, make recommendations, and implement changes.
  • Achieve 5S goals ensuring a work environment that is clean, uncluttered, safe and well-organized resulting in reduced waste and optimized productivity.
  • Utilize Lean and Continuous Improvement methodology to improve performance resulting in increased customer satisfaction.
  • Promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them.

What you'll bring:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5+ years' experience as a Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands On Experience: Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse organization with changing priorities and deadlines while leading and supervising a team of employees.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrate technical expertise and ability to apply skills to continuous improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety.
  • Computer Skills: Excellent Microsoft Office Skills with experience in ERP system (JDE experience preferred).
  • Communications Skills: Excellent written and oral communication with the ability to interact with many types of personalities.
  • Comfortable as a leader, team member or as an individual contributor.
  • Ability to build a strong team that reaches their full potential.
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S preferred. Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Within 3 months, you'll:
  • Complete your new hire "Immersion" so that you are ready to rock in your new role.
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
  • Understand EHS policies in Atkore
  • Get familiar with ERP system requirements and functions.
  • Understand LDM and shipping daily metrics "KPIs".
  • Participate in LDM, core team and Lean meetings.
Within 6 months, you'll:
  • Provide schedules for shipping and receiving team.
  • Complete understanding and utilization of JDE system.
  • Monitor KPI and create countermeasure if needed.
  • Improve shipments errors and NCRs.
  • Collaborate with production department to resolve issues related to shipping or RMA's
Within 12 months, you'll:
  • Achieve OTD of > 99%.
  • Complete, create, and update all SOPs for the shipping department to capture latest practices.
  • Improve shipping records and inventory cycle counts to be less than 0.001% variance.
  • Improve-complete cross training matrix.
  • Complete employees' performance review


Pay Range: $70,240 - $87,800
