Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team in ensuring the continuous operation and optimal performance of our highly automated food manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of up to 10 technicians, planning and organizing maintenance activities, and driving technical improvements to production machinery, installations, utilities, internal transport, and facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans to minimize downtime, maximize equipment availability, and optimize production efficiency.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities on production machinery, installations, and utilities to ensure reliable and uninterrupted operation.
  • Technical Improvements: Identify opportunities for technical enhancements to improve equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency, and lead the implementation of these improvements in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-solving: Provide technical expertise and guidance to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, diagnose root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimize production disruptions.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective maintenance strategies while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to procure spare parts, equipment, and services, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective solutions.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards within the maintenance team, promoting a culture of safety awareness and adherence to best practices.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory levels, and generate regular reports to track key performance indicators and identify areas for improvement.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or technical field is required
  • 5 years of proven experience in maintenance management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team of maintenance technicians.
  • In-depth knowledge of automated production systems, machinery, and utilities, with expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical aptitude, with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interact with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Familiarity with mechanical components and mechanisms; electrical components and controls; and programmable logic controllers (PLC) such as Allen Bradley and/or Siemens
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, quality standards, and best practices in maintenance management.
