Summary:

One of Gpac's client companies is looking for a Site Procurement Manager. Our client company is an established construction general contractor (GC) that takes pride in how they work with their clients, the work they do, how they treat their team members, and being actively involved with the communities they are in. Our client company will assist in relocation costs for the right person.

Job:

The Site Procurement Manager will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and oversee all procurement and expediting activities for a large-scale project. They will provide their expertise to establish purchasing systems and procedures aligned with our client company's established standards and protocols. The Site Procurement Manager will ensure that the purchasing of consumable goods, construction materials, equipment, and services generates the maximum economic benefit possible. They will develop and execute a sourcing strategy while mitigating associated risks.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Site Procurement Manager will perform the following duties in a safe, productive, and effective manner.

  • Leads and manages the entire purchasing process for the job site including:
    • Performing initial research with the end-user
    • Collaborating with potential suppliers
    • Negotiating terms of purchasing agreement(s)
    • Issuing purchase order(s)
    • Monitoring the delivery status and receipt of goods
  • Efficiently securing consumable goods (safety supplies, hand tools, etc.), construction materials (concrete, rebar, PT, etc.), equipment (generators, concrete buckets, etc.), and services (rental equipment) for the job site to increase profits.
  • Supervises jobsite specific contract agreements (rental, rebate, and/or purchase) and actively pursues additional agreements as is appropriate.
  • Executes agreed-upon terms and conditions for rental contracts, p/o's, and purchase transactions.
  • Acts as a point of contact with the suppliers and subcontractors, observes and directs problems that may impact client satisfaction.
  • Directs compliance by subcontractors with terms of subcontracts and creates impact notices as needed.
  • Directs, trains, evaluates, and develops direct reports to ensure maximum return on investment.
  • Ensures support managers within area of responsibility will also supervise, train, evaluate and develop their direct reports.
  • Gives guidance, supervision, coaching, and reinforce to direct reports to increase individual and complete department performance.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, advanced degree preferred. Minimum 15 years procurement or supply chain management experience related to construction industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of procurement vendor inspection techniques, financial management and contract law required.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • DoD Security Clearance is Preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to nurture relationships and work collaboratively with a variety of individuals (e.g., subcontractors, engineers, suppliers, operations, and staff)
