We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant, who will be responsible for performing accounting functions and managing our direct pay process. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of accounting principles, ability to problem solve, advanced Excel spreadsheet skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

The Staff Accountant - Direct Pay Specialist responsibilities are performing accounting functions and managing our direct pay process, including:

  • Verify and process direct pay.
  • Communicate with clients and vendors regarding payment status.
  • Reconcile direct pay accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain Excel spreadsheets and reviewing aged policies.
  • Identify and track issues.
  • Provide solutions for quick resolution.
  • Propose and implement action plans.
  • Oral and written correspondence with agents regarding billing issues.
  • Perform routine/basic accounting responsibilities.
  • Flexibility to work on special projects and accounting tasks
  • Meet the demands of clients, including some travel to attendance at meetings.
  • Supervision by Director of Finance and interacts with finance and operations team
  • Will be exposed to confidential operating results, financial information, operating procedures, forecasts and management decisions.
BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)
  • Bachelors' degree required in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Sound knowledge of GAAP and insurance accounting principles.
  • PC literacy with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Expert mastery of the English language, both written and verbal, and ability to communicate effectively with others, including the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to team members.
  • Ability to analyze data and present recommendations based on outcomes of analysis.
  • Ability to prepare and effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to management, customers, clients, and employee.
MINIMUM JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors' degree required in accounting or equivalent experience.

Pay Range

$60,000 - $70,000 and will depend on several factors including geographical location, relevant experience, skills and knowledge pertaining to this role and industry.
