SUMMARY:

Precision Metal Works manufactures metal stamped parts and components for the appliance and automotive industries. We have approximately 200 team members with two manufacturing facilities in Louisville, KY and one in Frankfort, KY. Our facilities boast 40 stamping presses, a state-of-the-art powder coating line, robotic welding, cosmetic stainless-steel finishing, and numerous assembly operations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hands on manager able to effect change with multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Background in Steel Market (highly preferred)
  • Analyze and review supplier performance.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Develop strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Analyze market trends to identify potential new suppliers.
  • Track and report key functional metrics for site Purchasing activities.
  • Identify and develop risk management strategies for supply chain.
  • Establish strong supplier relationships, effectively manage category supply base, perform advance negotiations, and oversee selection of key suppliers.
  • Actively monitor vendor and internal performance against contracts, industry benchmarks, and previous baselines. Develop and submit reports to Executive management
  • Identify and evaluate market changes โ€“ make appropriate fact-base recommendations
  • Oversee roll-out of new vendor contracts and processes.
  • Ability to interface with multiple levels of an organization internally and externally
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team
  • Develop supplier relationships in support of such activities, using supplier selection criteria and performance/quality evaluation techniques.
  • Ensure delivery of materials at expected costs and quality levels, including purchase orders, and long-term agreements.
  • Ensure compliance to ISO and QS requirements.


EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration
  • Three (3) or more years of Purchasing Manager level experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated talent in negotiation and supplier management
  • Excellent spreadsheet skills โ€“ able to recognize when to use a spreadsheet, know how to effectively organize data to leverage analysis tools including pivot tables, graphs, charts, etc.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills including a high level of self- motivation and independent work.
  • Excellent communication and interaction skills โ€“ able to create clear, concise written and oral communications, to read / create documents in English, and to interface positively with others (team members, other departments, vendors).
  • Good analytical skills and aptitude in decision making
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully negotiating multi-disciplinary contracts, strategic category management and Company programs/initiatives.
  • Member of the Supply Chain organization(s) a plus.
  • IATF experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business correspondences, Safety Notices, Control Plans, Quality Alerts, and Packaging instructions. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers.
