Naswik, LLC, is a joint partnership between Chugach, Tatitlek and Chenega.Naswik, opening in the Fall of 2024, is a four-story building located in the city of Valdez that offers hotel rentals and short term leasing.Naswik is the Sugt'stun word for 'look out', a vantage point that offers a comprehensive view.Naswik will be the tallest building and Valdez and offer sensational views of both the ocean and mountains.

SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:

Under the direction of the General Manager, the Front Desk Clerk provides for exceptional customer service and support of guests of Chugach Naswik, a short term and nightly rental facility in Valdez, Ak. Responsibilities include greeting new and returning guests, manage guest accounts, perform check-ins, manage and provide room, storage and gym door codes, take down payment information, assist with mail, and mitigate complaints. Provides general administrative support to the General Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & JOB FUNCTIONS / ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner.
  • Ascertains their lodging, payment or other guest needs.
  • Registers guests and manages the reservation system and other related systems or software as required.
  • Collects payments from guests or leasees.
  • Verifies credit acceptance by reviewing and proper identification and operating credit card authorization system.
  • Balances cash drawer by counting cash and reconciling at beginning and end of work shift.
  • Ensure the front desk is neat, presentable, and equipped with all the necessary supplies.
  • Answer all guest questions and incoming calls.
  • Accept all letters and packages, and distribute them to their appropriate locations.
  • Monitor, organize, and forward messages as needed.
  • Track and order office equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain records and files.
  • Work within office budget.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.


Work Conditions:

Work requires the individual to be on their feet throughout the day checking in and assisting guests.Work includes travel by vehicle to secure supplies as needed. Office work is performed in a traditional office environment. Incumbent should be able to walk unassisted, bend, squat, lift and stand or sit for extended periods of time.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer use and troubleshooting skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office standard programs including Outlook, Word and Excel. Ability to manage reservation system.
  • Ability to perform duties in a timely manner and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.


JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):

MANDATORY:

  • Two (2) years of proven experience in a similar role.
  • High school diploma, GED or relevant qualification.
  • Good understanding of office administration and basic bookkeeping practices.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
