Job Description

JOB TITLE: FIELD REPRESENTATIVE

Job Summary:

Field Representatives, crucial members of CLEET, play a pivotal role in establishing and nurturing partnerships and effective relationships across the state. They may be tasked with coordinating off-site basic law enforcement training, delivering specialized continuing education courses, and conducting intricate investigations related to licensing, certification, and training compliance matters. They are also responsible for submitting investigative reports to CLEET's Legal Department or local district attorneys when necessary. Additionally, they assist and coordinate new law enforcement agencies, facilitate the creation or reinitiation of their departments, and perform all other assigned duties.

Description of Tasks:

This position represents CLEET as a liaison for assistance and services to law enforcement, local government, and the general population. Assignments will require extensive travel and evening hours so that the workweek will be adjusted accordingly.

As a Field Representative, you will be instrumental in investigating complaints against law enforcement agencies and officers. You may also be called upon to assist in investigations regarding private security companies, guards, and investigators. Your role will involve evaluating all applications for accuracy, particularly those applying to hold a reserve peace officer training academy, and recommending approval or denial. You will also conduct background checks as needed for employment at CLEET.

Education and Experience:

The ideal candidate for this role must possess a CLEET Peace Officer certification or be eligible for Certification through Reciprocity. They should also have a valid Oklahoma driver's license. A minimum of four years experience in law enforcement, with at least two years experience as an instructor and two years experience as an investigator, is required. Possessing a Basic Instructor Development certificate (BID) or comparable instructor certification, as CLEET allows, is also necessary. While a bachelor's degree in a Criminal justice-related field and experience in law enforcement supervision or management are desired, they are not required. This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development.

Requirements:

Commissioned employees must pass a peace officer background investigation as defined in 70 OS 3311E.

The Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training is committed to equal-opportunity employment. We welcome applications from all individuals, regardless of race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, color, age, national origin, genetic information, religion, or disability. We believe in providing reasonable accommodation to individuals with disabilities as long as the disability does not prevent them from performing the position's essential functions.

* Extensive Amounts of Travel will be required.

* State Assigned Vehicle.

* Duty Station will be assigned by the Chief of Staff.

Equal Opportunity Employment

The State of Oklahoma is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of genetic information, race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, or disability.
