Job Summary

We are seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Procurement Assistant. In this role, the main task is to provide support in procurement activities. In addition to performing procurement support activities, this position also processes purchase orders or supports processing purchase orders for higher-level buyers and conducting basic market research and procurement. The position is responsible for awarding small purchases within the scope of applicable authorizations and buyer award authorities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists with fundamental procurement requirements and facilitates the ordering of goods.
  • Provides assistance in developing requisitions for assigned departments and divisions, including conducting market source reviews and researching potential contracts and vendors.
  • Contributes to the internal procurement team or function by providing support.
  • Completes bids, proposals, and addendum checklist, and performs general procurement support.
  • Handles office administrative tasks and phone communications, procures documents, distributes, and collects Pcards.
  • Other essential job duties may be required.

The ideal candidate will have familiarity with governmental procurement operations and be able to offer exceptional customer service to internal customers requiring assistance.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and four (4) years of related work experience preferably in procurement or procurement support activities and ERP and web-based systems (to include performing data entry); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Pursuing certification as a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) or an equivalent credential in the realm of purchasing or buying is preferable.

Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal, credit, and DMV background screenings.
