Holcim is 70,000 people around the world who are passionate about building progress for people and the planet through four business segments: Cement, Ready-Mix Concrete, Aggregates and Solutions & Products.Description:ABOUT THE ROLEThe Terminal Operator safely operates all equipment at the location used to load and unload rail cars, boats and/or trucks, ensuring order accuracy and expeditious processing of requests.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGDemonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.Practice and promote safety in such a way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).Exercise and encourage core values including but not limited to; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment.Terminal Operators need the ability to communicate with Terminal Managers, customers, sales personnel, trucking firms and suppliers.Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.Carry out tasks related to loading/unloading material, both bulk and bagged, waterway and road methods of transportation, as appropriate for the specific location.Operate and conduct general maintenance on mobile equipment and assist with general mechanical maintenance.Other duties as assigned.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORRequired Education: High School diploma/GEDRequired Work Experience: 1-3 yearsRequired Computer and Software Skills: Basic Knowledge about computers, Microsoft programs, and SAP preferredAdditional Requirements:High Mechanical aptitude and ability. Knowledge of office equipment. Pleasant and positive attitude working with co-workers, customers, and the public. Physical ability to work at heights, confined-enclosed areas, and perform unloading functions.Must be able to complete paperworkCandidates with a mechanical background and welding experience are desirableAutonomous, meticulous, good judgmentCourteous with customersKnows and applies safe working practicesAttestation on any kind of training an assetKnowledge of cement, the construction industry and integrated computer systems an assetGood communication skillsDemonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
