We are actively seeking a Diesel Mechanic in Bossier City, Louisiana
Responsibilities:
- Perform service, maintenance, repair, and overhaul per manufacturers' recommendations.
- Conduct equipment repairs in response to maintenance requests, both in-shop and field locations.
- Remove and replace components during equipment repairs.
- Use diagnostic procedures and test equipment to identify and fix equipment faults.
- Conduct mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, and electronic analyses and diagnoses.
- Operate shop equipment, including cranes, welders, compressors, presses, grinders, heavy hand tools, and tire servicing equipment.
- Safely lift, move, and install heavy parts and assemblies using basic tooling and PPE.
- Assist other mechanics and team members as required.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
- Technical school certification preferred.
- Experience with 3/4 ton trucks up to 18-wheelers, excavators, dozers, etc.
- Ability to obtain a Chauffeur's License or Class "C" CDL within 90 days of employment and maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
- Mandatory knowledge and proper use of special tools/equipment for assigned maintenance tasks.
- Understanding of engine operation theories and principles, including accessories and components.
- Proven ability to follow instructions, work with minimal supervision, and use required computer/telephone applications.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high, with occasional outdoor work in various weather conditions.
