**Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:**

* Provide network support, maintenance and trouble-shooting support services to the University, under the direction of the Director of Network Services.

**Principal Responsibilities:**

* Complete projects as per supervisors direction.

* Provide layer support of all network devices included but not limited to Workstations, servers, IP phones, videoconference units and surveillance cameras and wireless access points.

* Plan for and execute firmware/software upgrades on all network equipment

* Support and troubleshoot wireless access points and WISM controller.

* Follow and implement current information security best practices in administrating all network equipment and services.

* Support and troubleshoot WAN connections for regional campuses and cross-campus issues, as needed.

* Investigate network issues and blackouts.

* Provide link layer support for all student connections.

* Perform other department related support activities as needed.

**Education Requirements:**

A Bachelor's degree is preferred in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent working knowledge of network operation systems and configurations required.

**Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:**

* Ability to work independently, and as a project leader or team member.

* Willingness to learn and attend trainings as needed.

* Experience with configuring switches, routers, network and infrastructure and monitoring tools.

* Preferred Network+, Security+ and Cisco certifications .

* This position requires occasional availability outside of regular business hours for equipment installation, firmware/software updates, and other maintenance tasks as required.

* This position could on occasion require, bending, reaching, ascending, and descending stairs, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

**Working Conditions:**

* Must have valid drivers license/ ability to travel to all campuses, when requested to do so.

* Must be willing to work weekends and evenings if necessary
