Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Arxada is looking for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in Mapleton. IL. The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting and repair of a wide range of plant equipment, performing preventative maintenance, installation & removal of equipment, and maintaining the utilities and physical structure of an OSHA PSM regulated facility. This role starts at $39.68/per hour for an experienced mechanic (4 years) and $39.68/per hour for a Master Mechanic (8 years or 4 years experience with certification in mechanic studies)
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, and maintain production machinery and mechanical equipment and detect and report deficiencies as required to support on-going daily production and to minimize resource downtime.
- Maintain production equipment maintenance records in accordance with company policy and ISO/PSM requirements and report conditions warranting servicing, repair, replenishment, or replacement.
- Provide for equipment sustainability and reliability through performing established preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and communicate when PM revision or change is advisable/needed.
- Maintain a high level of proficiency with all production equipment repair procedures.
- May require interpreting simple blueprints, manufacturers' manuals, or similar documents; determining methods and materials to be used in completing assignments.
- Under general supervision, function independently within the scope of department procedures and objectives to complete necessary tasks to support operations.
- Prioritizing requests; and responding to production emergencies.
- Perform other site maintenance tasks, as assigned.
Key Requirements- Minimum high school diploma or GED.
- 8+ years of industrial experience, or 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience and a certificate, diploma or apprenticeship in mechanical studies.
- Experience with rotating equipment and mechanical seals is required.
- Machinist (Lathe, pumps, seal welding (pipefitting) experience is highly preferred.
