Job Details

This role sits in Cumberland, RI . The role with start as mostly onsite for training and testing purposes but will transition to hybrid in August after Go Live.

Experience in a regulated industry or the construction industry is highly preferred.

Job Summary
Responsible for providing expertise, analysis, and solutions to complex supplier coordination (ESG), billing, regulatory processes, and technical problems with a focus on improving operational effectiveness and excellence. The Billing Specialist has knowledge and understanding of supplier activities, billing processes and the systems to support the tasks. Proactive monitoring is performed to identify potential concerns. This position is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for projects that impact billing and ESG billing and enhances other's understanding of business processes and systems.


Job Responsibilities
1. Provide analysis and solutions to complex billing.
2. Enhance other's understanding of “end-to-end” meter to cash processes.
3. Review and create detailed documentation of business processes and the use of associated systems.
4. Monitor and analyze various system control reports, to determine root cause and resolution.
5. Implement new controls.
6. Develop training and advise others.
7. Perform account data repairs to allow system users to proceed with customer billing.
8. Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal customers and ESG.
9. Investigate and respond to inquiries from internal and external customers, i.e. Call Center, Business Accounts, and/or Suppliers.
10. Identify opportunities to use information technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes.
11. Define requirements, prepare process flows, test, and implement billing processes and system improvement changes due to Regulatory orders or business process improvements to streamline processes and reduce billing costs.
12. Assist with business case preparation.
13. Prepare clear, concise, comprehensive communications with minimal supervision.
14. Facilitate meetings and deliver presentations.
15. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments in PPL Electric Utilities as well as regulatory agencies.
16. Physical presence in the office/on-site to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.

17. May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.
