Job Details

The Town of Sharon is seeking a qualified individual to provide administrative and record-keeping work supporting the Finance Committee.

Duties include:

  • Compiling and maintaining information for committee and public use;
  • Preparing and posting meeting agendas and scheduling meeting appointments;
  • Maintaining Committee's webpage on town website;
  • Taking, compiling and archiving meeting minutes in accordance with the Open Meeting Law; and
  • Completing miscellaneous clerical duties.
Most of the assigned work can be performed remotely, aside from any in-person committee meetings.

The successful candidate will be required to attend Monday evening meetings (most meetings are held virtually) approximately two times per month; the number of hours are subject to fluctuations during town meeting/budget season.

The position is part-time (approximately 10-20 hours per month) with no benefits.

Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma and one year of experience in administrative work; experience drafting municipal meeting minutes preferred. Ability to deal with committee members, the public and others in a courteous and tactful manner. Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills as well as the ability to work independently are all essential for the successful job candidate. Computer literacy with proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications required.

Compensation: $25.12 per hour
