POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Product Management, Marketing and Pricing drives significant business results by 1) focusing a product portfolio across broadband and managed IT services that strengthens the Alaska Communications Brand, while offering uniquely differentiated, durable and sustainable products to the customers we serve 2) driving marketing activities to support the brand, sales and create demand, and 3) Creating pricing strategies, price points, and business cases that support profitable revenue. We have established revenue targets for Enterprise Data. Achieving these targets with a strong focus on margin is a key responsibility and accountability.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Define, develop, and introduce to the marketplace new and innovative hosting and managed services solutions that integrate across Alaska Communications and TekMate boundaries spanning both IT and terrestrial data creating a cogent product portfolio aimed at business/enterprise customers. Build one set of operational behaviors to be defined, measured and adjusted through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the value generated for our customers by our products in Enterprise Data and IT and the capabilities to translate this understanding into sales strategies and channel development.
  • Think long term and bigger, strategically managing a portfolio of product lines for revenue growth while retaining the ability to drive tactics and determine how and why one tactic leads to another to achieve our desired outcome.
  • Develop marketing strategies and implement tactics to support the entire buyer s journey from awareness, evaluation, purchase and advocacy.
  • Drive marketing activities across multiple channels and across multiple market segments
  • Find, assess and secure fit for purpose organizations who will be our business partners. Tie together our respective expertise in a manner consistent with our brand.
  • Drive increasing market share in all Hosting and Managed Services segments of our Enterprise/Business market as well as driving growth in other product segments that will become components of managed services solution sets.
  • Develop and articulate a deep appreciation of differentiated and competitive pricing strategies that allow us to gain share while preserving industry leading margins.
  • Develop pricing strategies and support pricing activities for strategic proposals, business case analysis with consistency across product development and opportunity analysis
  • Provide strong and responsive Sales support, maintaining a strong connection to our customers and markets at all times.
  • Provide regular, concise, value-added market intelligence to the entire company to assure ACS remains the premier telecommunications solutions company in Alaska.
  • Team the Marketing, Sales, and Service Delivery and Operations organizations to ensure we maintain a consistent brand experience across customer touch points.
  • Manage product lifecycle from concept through to end of life. Create an extraordinary customer experience at every touch point ensuring our customer experience becomes a sustainable, durable and strategic differentiator.
  • Create revenue budget and manage revenue and loss against the budget and forecast
  • Enhance profitability and competitiveness, driving key COGS lower with a particular focus on carrier relations.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor's degree and additional advanced (role relevant) education.

Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years product management and/or product marketing experience in a comparable industry/company. Years in a formal leadership position preparing you to naturally assume a Director Product Management role.
