Job Details

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments in a timely and efficient manner. This role involves verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material and arranging for the transportation of products to their destination. The Shipping/Receiving Clerk also ensures that shipments are properly labeled, packed, and documented according to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments of materials or merchandise.
  • Verify accuracy of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or other records.
  • Prepare and pack items for shipping, ensuring they are appropriately labeled and documented.
  • Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, including tracking information and inventory levels.
  • Organize and maintain inventory storage areas.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counts and stock replenishment.
  • Communicate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve shipment discrepancies or issues.
  • Operate shipping/receiving equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines when handling shipments and operating equipment.
