The office of Voter Registration for Clark County Government is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Election Clerk. A detailed job description is attached. Voter Registration works under the umbrella of the Clark County Clerk of Circuit Court and plays a crucial role in upholding the democratic process by ensuring that all eligible citizens have the opportunity to register and vote in elections within Clark County. This office does many things to fulfill that role by maintaining accurate and up-to-date voter rolls and making sure our elections run smoothly.

The Election Clerk is responsible for answering telephone calls and assisting individuals at the counter while providing election related information. This person will be responsible for coordinating poll locations during primary and general elections. The Election Clerk will be required to assist candidates with filing for office and any other election filings required by Indiana law. This position helps prepare and review ballots during the ballot building process and will help develop and assist with precinct/poll worker training which requires the ability to publicly speak. The person in the role performs other duties that are related to voter registration and the elections in Clark County.

The Election Clerk will report to the Election Administrator, Chief Deputy Clerk and County Clerk. Usual days and hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

A high school diploma or GED is required. A 2-yer college degree is preferred by not required.
