Job Description
Provide leadership and direction to the team. This position is primarily responsible for managing the purchasing, planning, and scheduling functions. Provide support to production scheduling on all material flow including to meet production scheduling and customer requirements. Conduct daily Tier 1 communication meeting with all department personnel in area of responsibility focusing on Planning, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory EO. Participate in daily Tier 2 Gemba walks with management to provide current status of operation and execute any corrective actions. Develop, implement, and manage a cross-functional, fully integrated planning process that incorporates capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, raw materials, and associated cost elements. Identify opportunities for process improvement within delivery, cost, inventory and people. Identify opportunities to reduce and eliminate past due orders and provide a plan to execute at 100 On-Time Delivery to our customer requirements. Maintain inventory health levels at safety stock or greater to support customer demand. Support continuous improvement activity events to improve current operational methods. Create and execute development plans on skill matrix for our employees. Promote and teach Problem Solving with 5 Whys methods and other analytical tools. Perform analysis of customer demand, sales forecasts and historical material usage to develop and execute accurate production plans and inventory levels. Proactively identify and address any issues with the production plan by establishing and monitoring schedules, coordinate with production operations and customer service to ensure on-time delivery targets. Establish, implement, and manage a system to evaluate, monitor, and reports on supplier scorecard performance. Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardize work processes are followed and countermeasures are implemented where necessary. Skills Required
5+ yrs exp in procurement, inventory, planning. Proficient in ERPMRP systems. Procurement leadership in managing and reducing excess inventory. Hands on exp dealing with suppliers. Familiar with ISO 9000 quality system requirements.
