Boyd Richards Parker & Colonnelli, P.L. (“BRPC”) is seeking an associate litigation attorney with a minimum of 2-5 years experience in labor and employment law matters to join the Miami office. The ideal candidate will also have experience in commercial litigation, including condominium and community association related matters, directors and officers liability, and professional liability matters.
Responsibilities:
· Assisting in the management of cases from inception
· Attending hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials via videoconference and in person as necessary and dictated by state and federal courts throughout the State of Florida, with a primary focus in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.
· Assisting in the preparation of pleadings, discovery/discovery responses, motions, and other litigation documents
· Preparing timely reports to insurance carriers and clients regarding case status and ongoing activities
· Ability to prioritize workload based on deadlines
· Communicating effectively with attorneys and paralegal
Required Skills:
· Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
· Ability to interact with attorneys, paralegals, court personnel, opposing counsel, clients, and office staff in a professional manner
· Ability to delegate and prioritize as necessary
· Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
· Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Knowledge of ProLaw is a plus
Required Qualifications:
Member in Good Standing of the Florida bar, admission to the Florida U.S. District Courts a plus
Approximately 2100 billable hours expected per year
