Reports to: BCBA and/or Director of Special Services

Summary: The Registered Behavior Technician will provide intensive behavior support services to students in-district.
The RBT will work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to implement behavior support plans for students that require consistent and significant behavioral support during the school day.
The Registered Behavior Technician will meet all of the requirements of RBT certification.
This is not an instructional support position, although the RBT may provide some instructional support to students as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Understand and apply the basic principles of ABA in classroom settings as directed.
2. Assess student needs and provide interventions to redirect behavior
3. Collect and submit data needed for Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans. (BIP)
4. Implement Behavior Intervention Plans to affect behavior changes
5. Regularly review, and remain well-versed in a multitude of BIPs in order to implement the plans and monitor plans for multiple students, at the same time
6. Provide direct consultation to the BCBA, specific to analysis of data and recommendations for modifications or revisions to BIPs.
7. Model implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans for paraprofessionals and staff
8. When required, provide physical intervention for students demonstrating unsafe behaviors
9. Perform and document the district approved restraint and seclusion methods; as well as participate in yearly crisis intervention training provided by the district.
10. Participate as a member of the school crisis team
11. Attend IEP meetings as requested
12. Attend regular department meetings with the BCBA and other RBTs
13. Maintain consistency of Behavioral Intervention Plans by communicating and providing input to teachers and other support staff
14. Work with multiple students, wide-variety of age ranges, as assigned by the administration, case manager, and/or BCBA, work at multiple sites during the school year
15. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, use stairs, get up and down from off the floor, all with ease. Job will be physically demanding at times.

Education and/or Required Experience: Minimum of high school diploma as well as formal training in theories of Applied Behavioral Analysis, or Behavioral Support Interventions and successful completion of the Registered Behavior Technician training course and examination for certification. A minimum of 2 years previous experience working with students who require behavior support. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Registered Behavior Technician certification, as evidenced by completion of the RBT training course and examination, as well as participation in the district provided crisis intervention training.

Remain physically fit in order to maintain capability to physically intervene when students are unsafe, and maintain physical requirements listed under essential duties
Must be flexible, creative and problem solving oriented in approach
Demonstrate enthusiasm, as well as relatability to work with students of all ages
Ability to give attention to detail and strong communication skills
All other requirements of employment
