**Position Description**

The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing food safety leadership for the Pet, Meals, Snacks, and Baking platforms and embracing the agility to navigate those platforms within the Pilot Plant.

This position is accountable for supporting innovation and experimentation initiatives from a food safety perspective. You will work with our business partners to champion quality, safety and regulatory compliance. The work you do in this role requires a learning mindset and will provide you with a high level of cross-functional exposure and will enhance your ability to partner with several different business functions, including R&D, G-Works and co-founder teams to champion remarkable products and solutions.

**Responsibilities**

* Provide the business and technical leadership necessary to ensure Quality operations goals are met or exceeded in relation to Food Safety and customer satisfaction.

* You will leverage your skills to ensure that the Pilot Plant platforms are HACCP, FSRA and policy complaint.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**

* Lead quality, food safety and regulatory strategies for the platforms

* Lead Regulatory contacts for the platforms

* Ensure documentation for all R&D runs is accurate and complete.

* Updating and accuracy of HACCP plans.

* Work closely with the business teams and able to pivot for competing business priorities.

* Foster positive employee relations with the team and co-workers; create and promote a team environment, manage conflict, and resolve issues in an open, direct and respectful manner.

* Drive forward a culture of strong human and food safety values and lead efforts which help us realize our vision of Incident Free.Facilitate effective sharing of information across work teams, shifts and functional groups, foster strong collaboration.

**Required Skills/Experience**

* Strong manufacturing background and a strong knowledge of Quality and Food Safety systems.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Ability to experiment, assess risks and make data-based recommendations and decisions.

**Preferred Skills/Experience**

* Experience in a manufacturing environment or other applicable experience.

* Food Manufacturing and Good Manufacturing Practices

* Sanitation and Inspection Processes
