Location: Chattanooga Metropolitan Area Command - Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Position: Regular Full Time Case Management Specialist, Residential Re-Entry Center

Pay Rate: $22.01/hour.

About this opportunity:

Manages, monitors, and supervises federal inmate who are in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and housed at the Residential Reentry Center (RRC); meets with inmates weekly to discuss program requirements, process in set goals and the different components of the program. Review's inmate program participation and makes recommendations regarding and disciplinary matters.

Key responsibilities:

  • Counsels' residents of the RRC with problems related to adjustment, family, society, or other areas.
  • Assists in maintaining resident files, records, and documentation in an up - to- data manner; keeps the same in a secure location.
  • Evaluates resident progress weekly through individual Program Plans, counseling as necessary on moral, motivation and adjustment issues.
  • Works in combination with the Social Services Coordinator (SSC) to plan, organize and execute procedures in the areas of employment, training, budgeting, program levels and privileges.
  • Assists in investigating and resolving incidents, complaints, or behavioral problems, utilizing specific due process procedures.
  • Maintains contact with community resources agencies, referral agencies and officials involved in the resident programs as authorized by the referral sources contact guidelines and assists the referral sources in program planning, reviews, counseling, and documentation.
  • Assists Program Director in compiling and timely submission of records and documentation as directed by the referral source and/or contact guidelines.
  • Visit's employment sites verifying and documenting appropriate job placement; assists in covering for absences due to emergency situations.
  • Inspects residents' homes in preparation for their weekend passes or home confinement.

What we are looking for in you:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or a related field,
  • One year experience performing correctional, security or social service work preferred., OR


  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light (less than 25lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Light mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.
  • Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
  • Work requires travel in order to conduct community and home visits.
