JOB GOAL: To maintain the physical school facilities in a condition of cleanliness and safety, so that full educational use of the facilities may be made at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
.

• Cleans and polishes lighting and wall fixtures, wood and/or other surfaces and trim.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, libraries, cafeterias, auditoriums, gymnasiums, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, play areas and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floor.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Polishes metalwork.
• Washes walls, ceiling and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets and waste containers.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Replaces light bulbs.
• Cuts and trims shrubbery and grass; and shovels snow.
• Delivers packages and materials.
• Transports equipment or tools throughout the building.
• Sets up equipment, tables and chairs where needed.
• Maintains building security at all times.
• Maintains current knowledge in those areas related to the performance of job duties, including matters dealing with safety regulations and procedures, hazardous materials and asbestos handling through attendance at District in-service programs.
• Other duties may be assigned.
