Responsible for the registration of all patients accessing services with emphasis on patient access/satisfaction, insurance/demographic verification and accuracy, and point of service collection, while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and ethics continuously. Job Responsibilities May visit patient rooms to gather needed insurance and financial information. Confirms eligibility and verifies insurance benefits. Ensures all necessary demographic and billing information is obtained for patients and entered in the computer system timely and accurately. Responsible for obtaining and documenting required pre-certification for outpatient testing obtained by the physician s office. May schedule appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.. Explains financial responsibilities for services received, payment options, and collection procedures to patients and/or parties responsible for payment.
