PICU RN Will work 3x12s hours nights 7pm-730am, with holiday rotation Weekend REQ: EOW Is on-call REQ: N/A Ratios: 1:2/1:3 Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes Years of experience REQ: 2 years of PICU experience Accept 1st time travelers: yes Experience Preferred: ECMO, CRRT License REQ: SC or Multi State/Compact RN license Certs REQ: BLS, PALS (MUSC only accepts American Heart Association (AHA)) Open to accommodating block schedule? Requires managers approval upon request. Dependent on unit's needs. Local radius: 60 miles Locals accepted: yes, on a case-by-case basis at 10% less than the posted bill rate. RTO Restrictions: all RTO must be submitted at time of submission. Approval based off unit needs Guaranteed Hours: Facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks UNIT DETAILS: The Pediatric Intensive Care unit is an 28 bed unit providing intensive and intermediate care to children ages 0-18 from across the state of South Carolina. The unit cares for patients with a blend of medical and surgical diagnoses. Common diagnoses include, but are not limited to, respiratory compromise, trauma, post-operative surgical patients requiring immediate intensive care support, and neurology/neurosurgery. In addition to ventilatory and cardiac support, the unit provides ECMO/CRRT, renal or peritoneal dialysis and additional complex supportive therapies . Pediatric Palliative care is available as needed. The staffing mix includes Registered Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and Unit Secretaries with therapeutic supportive services such as Respiratory Therapy, Pediatric Dietitians, and Pediatric Pharmacist available as needed. Hospital Highlights Type of Facility: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital Total Staffed Beds: 820 Charting: EPIC Parking Cost: Parking management office (located 91presidents street) to obtain parking permit. $20 registration fee for a hang tag which will allow use of the garage. No additional fees. Hang tag will not cover parking in any other locations. If parking outside of the 91 Street Parking Garage, additional fees may be incurred. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. If this is a problem, please ensure travelers do not confirm a new or ext assignment during the season. Hurricane season runs from June through November each year. The peak months for hurricane activity are August and September.
