Job Summary
The Associate Director is responsible for assisting in the recruitment, evaluation, selection,
and enrollment of first-year students. The counselor will interview students, plan and
execute recruitment travel in their assigned domestic territories, give on- campus
presentations, and read and select applicants as a member of the Admission Committee.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Plan and execute recruitment travel, working to increase the College's visibility in both local and distant markets. Travel responsibilities include in-person visits at individual schools and community-based organizations, college fairs, interviews, workshops, and networking events. Travel up to 6-8 weeks in the fall and 2-4 weeks in the spring.
- Build and maintain relationships with high school, independent, and community-based
counselors and alumni in assigned travel territories. - Evaluate candidates for admission. Read applications, provide direction for evaluation of
schools in assigned territories, and participate in the committee review and selection process.
- Contribute to and participate in on-campus recruitment and yield events, including
interviews, information sessions, Open Houses, and workshops. - Oversee international recruitment travel and application selection process. Coordinate with the Office of Financial Aid on packaging for admitted students. Work with the Office of International Students and Assistant Dean of International Students to facilitate visa processing for incoming admitted students. Represent the College at regional, national and international conferences when appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Arts degree
Valid driver's license
Ability to travel
Five or more years of experience
