Responsibilities:

The Loan Documentation Specialist III is responsible for the preparation of commercial loan documentation at all levels of complexity and with a significant level of independence ensuring loans are documented as approved and in compliance with all applicable Bank policies and Federal and State banking laws and regulations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works independently to review loan requests to ensure proper approval and determine necessary due diligence required to generate loan documents that are accurate and in compliance with bank procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviews organizational documents to verify borrower/guarantors existence and authority to borrow for existing loans.
  • Reviews searches and other supporting documentation to confirm collateral ownership and lien position
  • Independently verifies customer information against tax returns, the Banks core system and records management system.
  • Reviews credit approval to determine the products to use in documentation software system and the terms to be used for the transaction.
  • Creates commercial loan documents of the highest level of complexity using the documentation software system. Completes all documentation timely and with minimal errors. Submits all completed work to the supervisor allowing enough time for a full review. Responsible for ensuring loans are in compliance with the Banks policies and procedures and all applicable banking rules and regulations.
  • Approves documentation created by other Loan Doc Specialists as the approved designate. Distributes work to Specialists as needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the Loan Documentation Specialists, Pre-Closing Specialists, Portfolio Administrators, , and other Lending personnel to address questions or concerns regarding, loan documentation process, organizational documents, securing a valid lien, new account numner and amortization requests, and/or the Pre-Closing process.
  • Coordinates with the Lending Teams to resolve any issue and/or discrepancies.
  • Provides training and support to other Documentation Specialists.
  • Lead communication with key commercial lending leadership, which includes, but is not limited to, Market Presidents, Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Administrators along with Senior Credit Administrators, to ensure consistent application of the Banks procedures and processes.
  • Make independent decisions and take on various departmental projects to support efficiency and overall effectiveness of the department.
  • Attend seminars and meetings as appropriate.
  • Complies with all applicable Bank policies and procedures.
  • Handles other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years commercial loan documentation experience at all levels of complexity using a documentation software system and with a high degree of independence.
  • Proficient in using loan documentation software.
  • Knowledge of using core banking systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to independently complete commercial loan documentation of all types and complexities.
  • Solid understanding of commercial loan types and lending terminology as well as organizational structures including, but not limited to, Sole Proprietorships, Subchapter S Corporations, C Corporations, Limited Liability Company, Partnerships, Limited Partnerships and related organizational documentation.
  • Significant understanding of loan documentation and documentation requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of LaserPro loan documentation software, or other similar loan documentation software.
  • Knowledge of the various laws and regulations governing the banking industry particularly in the commercial lending area.
  • Working knowledge of records management systems.

PREFERRED:

  • 2 year college degree.
  • Paralegal certified individual with experience in banking industry.
  • Previous banking experience in loan documentation, loan administration, loan servicing or other related area.
  • Laser Pro Adminstrator and General Setup System knowledge.
