Desktop Support Technician


Job Details

We are looking for a Desktop Support Technician to join the team! This is a unique, fantastic opportunity! This is a 30-hour, direct hire position that is 100% on-site in Hampshire, IL.

Description:

  • Provide general support for end users within the organization's desktop computing environment, including installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware, software, and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance.
  • Provide both on-site interaction and over-the-phone support for all company employees, including technical troubleshooting, assistance, and guidance.
  • Work closely with the other IT staff to collaboratively ensure that all company IT initiatives are met successfully.
  • Research and resolve technical problems
  • Respond to escalated telephone, email and online requests for technical support
  • Regularly exercise discretion and judgment in prioritizing requests and interpreting and adapting procedures, processes and techniques.
  • Provide on-site support for end user hardware and software issues in-person at Hampshire plant/office.
  • Provide remote support for end user hardware and software issues for other offices and off-site sales staff.
  • Support PC equipment and networking used for factory machines at Hampshire plant.
  • Responsible for installation and support of all multifunction and desktop office printers.
  • Oversee successful implementation of equipment during scheduled events.
  • Configure and support corporate iOS devices and VOIP desk phones.
  • Keep IT inventory up to date.

Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science (from US accredited college).
  • A minimum 2-3 years of experience within IT or technical related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows operating system: Windows 10, Windows 11.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve end user hardware and software issues.
  • Basic understanding of current technologies and the ability to learn new technology concepts.
  • Understanding of Windows networks, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS and DHCP.
  • Microsoft Exchange clients using Outlook, smartphones, tablets, and OWA.
  • Ability to resolve issues using "best practices" techniques.
  • Hands-on experience of troubleshooting and fixing IT equipment.
  • Good knowledge of Active Directory and Windows Server 2016 and 2019.
  • CompTIA A+ or Network+, CCNA, certifications are a plus.

Details:

  • This is a part-time position, working 30 hours a week (with eligibility for full benefits). May require occasional extra hours and/or weekends, as needed.
  • This is 100% on-site in Hampshire, IL.
  • Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 1:00 pm
  • This is a direct hire position. LOCAL candidates only.
  • Salary: $55K
  • W-2 only; no C2C/B2C. No relocation.
