911 CALL TAKER


Job Details

Spherion Nature Coast has partnered with the local Hernando County Sheriff's Telecommunication Center and we are looking for 3 - 5, 911 Call Takers to start their next training class.

H.C.S.O. provides an 18 week mandatory training class for all new hires.-

Spherion Opportunity:- 10-15 Week, Temp-To-Hire Career

Starting Salary: $18.21 per hour during training with an increase to $19.95 after training has been successfully completed

The ideal candidates will have strong ethics, are dedicated, reliable, and willing to learn and retain a multitude of information. You will be able to remain calm and focused when providing service to local citizens who call in with highly stressful or life threatening situations.

All qualified Spherion Candidates will be required to complete and pass the Hernando County Sheriff's Office CritiCall Test. This test is scheduled by invite only and coordinated through your Spherion Recruiter.

All serious applicants will be required to go through Spherion Staffing's application, interview and selection process, along with H.C.S.O.'s application, job preview, and CritiCall testing process as well.

Those selected to start will begin a 10 week training program, where you'll be responsible for learning their computer operating system, learn to screen general public and public safety personnel regarding Non-Emergency situations

Employees who qualify for permanent placement, will be converted and sworn in by H.C.S.O. and will then be required to complete the remaining 8 weeks of training for Emergency Situations

Working hours: 12 hour shifts require you to be flexible to work days, nights, weekends, & holidays as scheduled

Responsibilities:
Qualified Candidates Will:

Be willing to submit to a Drug Screening Process
Have the ability to use general office equipment: computer, phone, fax, scanner, copier, etc.
Have Intermediate to Advanced Computer skills
Have the ability to multitask using multiple computer monitors
Type 25+ WPM with 98%+ accuracy
Have the ability to interact effectively and to maintain a calm and professional demeanor with co-workers and the public
Have the ability to think clearly and logically under stress.
Have the ability to think quickly and react effectively in an emergency situation
Be skilled in gaining and maintaining control of a conversation
Be skilled in communicating
Be skilled in reading and understanding geographical maps
Be skilled in maintaining clear, concise, and accurate logs and records
Be skilled in accurately and rapidly processing requests for information, or direction from units in the field and /or supervisory personnel

Necessary Physical Abilities Needed:

Ability to communicate and annunciate clearly.
Ability to access, input and retrieve information from a computer.
Ability to sit for long periods of time
Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction)
Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid)
Environmental Conditions
