Waste Tracking/ Document Control Specialist


Job Details

Non-exempt position. Assist operations and the General Manager with waste inventory and tracking and document control.

Duties

Assist operations in the overall management of waste inventory and tracking.

Verify and input data into the data management system when waste is received, moved, processed or shipped.

Control receipt of customer waste to ensure radioactive and hazardous material storage requirements are not exceeded.

Coordinate the receipt of customer waste with Customer Service, Health Physics, Regulatory Affairs, and Operations personnel.

Document, as necessary, discrepancies with receipt of waste.

Facilitate document revision process including tracking, directing and retaining copies of correspondence, proof-reading and formatting, and issuing electronic and hard copies of procedures.

Assist with various other document revisions.

Scanning, filing, and electronically archiving documents, including creating new paper files and computer files.

Perform quality control reviews of archived documents and files.

Assist in maintenance of auditable records per regulatory and facility procedures and policies.

Prepare routine or recurring reports as required by EWOC procedures and policies.

Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Office environment approximately 80% of day, other 20% working in facility where there is potential for exposure to radiation, noise, dust and hot and cold temperatures. Climbing, walking and lifting will be normal daily requirements.

Requirements

Associates Degree or equivalent experience.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.

Good verbal and written communications skills.

Good filing and organizational skills.

Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing or sitting during extended periods of time.

Professionalism and attention to detail is a must.

Ability to assess time -vs- task to prioritize tasks requested.

Ability to request assistance if priorities are not clear and deadlines appear to be at risk.

Knowledge of DOT, state and federal regulations associated with mixed waste handling desirable.

Experience with receiving mixed waste a plus.

Salary Description

$25.00-$40.00 an hour
