Hourly Base Rate: $28.35 - $40.89 + 10% Resource Differential
Shift: Day Shift w/ rotation if needed
Hours Per Week: Varies

Job Summary:

• The Mental Health Evaluator assesses and coordinates the care and services of patients with identified need for intervention across the continuum of care.
• The Mental Health Evaluator acts as a liaison between patient, family, healthcare team and outside community agencies.
• Develops, facilitates and executes plan of care based on assessments.
• Specializes in the evaluation of patients with complex psycho-social issues.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in clinical, counseling psychology or related degree in Behavioral Science.
• Experience in providing mental health assessments.
• Previous crisis assessment, acute care experience preferred.
• Ability to perform mental health evaluations with diverse population.
• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of internal and external customers.
• This includes, but is not limited to: medical staff, patients, families, clinical personnel, support and technical staff, outside agencies and members of the community.
• Ability to establish rapport quickly with diverse patient populations and to maintain professionally ethical standards in patient/family interactions.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations as they pertain to medical and welfare fields.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work independently; exercise good time management skills.
• Ability to provide multiaxial DSM diagnostic impression.
• Proficiency in assessing, planning and coordinating patient care.
• Computer skills; including proficiency in word processing.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws as they pertain to involuntary transport and physician holds.
