Warehouse Clerk 1st Shift - $16.25 p/hr

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Other Duties May Be Assigned

  • The primary responsibilities of a Warehouse Clerk will be determined based on their home department. However, cross training will be provided to ensure all warehouse clerks are able to back up the different departments.
  • Utilizes established order templates in computer system to create and print batches of customer orders and shipping labels according to a preset schedule.
  • Monitors, resolves and leads efforts for shipped and unshipped pick tickets by running system reports and coordinating pick ticket clean up.
  • Perform physical inventory of all stock items and prepare appropriate purchase orders as per requirement
  • Review and perform physical count of all inventories parts
  • Understanding of maintenance parts and supplies
  • Troubleshoots system and equipment malfunctions with assistance from IT department and third party billing vendor.
  • Maintain accurate inventory on job critical supplies and communicate needs to management.
  • Monitors and controls the flow of printed pick tickets.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment.
  • Communicates and updates all appropriate parties via telephone, fax, and email as needed.
  • Performs basic maintenance of print room equipment, and audits printed pick tickets to ensure a high quality label is being produced every time.
  • Provides assistance to Customer Care with customer order appeasement requests,
  • Assists other departments as assigned.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate releasing of items from various lock codes.
  • Prioritizes backorders (hot) items and expedites accordingly.
  • Investigates and take corrective action on items with dimension, weight or tolerance issues.
  • Receives product into the Warehouse Management System (WMS), labels incoming product, verifies receiving schedules, numbers and product descriptions.
  • Meets or exceeds performance and productivity goals.
  • Creates, maintains and updates standardized forms in MS Excel/MS Word.
  • Responsible for daily filing and maintaining inspections files and all other QA documentations.
  • Audits and completes written documentation of product testing at various stages.
  • Updates data into established database(s) and Warehouse Management System (WM) on product specifications when necessary.
  • Updates documentations and correspondences used in shipment sample approvals.
  • Supports the department in corresponding and notifications on QA related inspections to QC or vendors.
  • Provides support to management on special projects.
  • Performs audits, communication and guidance to owners of lock codes, processes and location errors.
  • Updates and publishes the liquidation/lock code summary.
  • Provides back up support for cycle counts and shorts.
  • Issues and logs Bills of Lading.
  • Audits salvage process and reconcile discrepancies, audits SKU status, Audits receiving worksheet and issues with inner packs.
  • Coordinates pick-ups for salvage, liquidation or charity.
SCOPE
  • Performs work under general direction. Primary job functions occasionally require exercising independent judgment.
  • Works closely with Warehouse Operations Management, Warehouse Staff, and Customer Care.
  • This position has indirect contact with the customer and has a significant impact on Winston Brand's reputation in the marketplace and the satisfaction of our customers.
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS

  • Associate needs to be dependable, responsible, and able to work with little supervision.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Excel and Word) with some knowledge in AS400 platform computer programs.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • This role requires solid English skills. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbal and written.
  • Basic analytical ability with strong attention to detail and good follow-through skills.
  • Strong continuous learning orientation for self ability to quickly learn new computer applications as necessary.
  • Ability to train other associates (back ups) on job duties and functions.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed based on business needs.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High school degree or equivalent strongly desired.
  • Experience using Manhattan PkMS or other Warehouse Management System highly desired.
  • One year's experience in a warehouse environment or any combination of acceptable training, education, or experience.
  • Previous experience in a clerical role preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
  • Physical activity includes regular standing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and climbing stairs and ladders. Extensive walking and working on elevated platforms.
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver up to 50 lbs.
  • Work hours may vary, depending on the season and company needs
