**Overview**
The Nursing Station Attendant position is responsible for assisting with patient care, performing receptionist duties on the station, and maintaining patient care areas.
Hours: 0.6 (48 hours every two weeks)
Shift: Night
**Responsibilities**
**Assist with receptionist duties:**
Provides oversight of telephone communications within the department
Transmit information to appropriate personnel
Record messages
Assist visitors.
Maintain department specific sources of information
**Communicate orders to appropriate information source and communicate pending orders/results to appropriate staff in a timely manner.**
**Assemble and maintain patient charts :**
Prepare charts for discharge and patient transfer within Northland or other facilities.
**Maintain the patient care area:**
Assure safe, clean and efficient environment on station.
Maintain desk order.
Perform cleaning duties on station.
Monitor, order and stock supplies and equipment.
**Assist with the delivery of patient care :**
Provide care under the direct supervision of a nurse.
Provide transfer and transport of patients, supplies specimens and/or messages.
Knowledge of specialty equipment and procedures
Comfort Rounds
Glucose Testing
**Qualifications**
**License/Certification/Registration:**
* Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position (exception: MHealth Fairview West Bank Nursing Assistants)
or
Current enrollment in an RN program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
