Summary of essential job functions
* Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components
* Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
* Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
* Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
* Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
* Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
* Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
* Ability to lift 50lbs plus, bend, stoop, kneel and climb ladders.
* Above all, must be able to work closely with co-workers or other team members.

Minimum requirements
* 1 year of Truck or Heavy Equipment mechanic diagnosis (maintenance) experience is required.
* 1 year of 12/24 volt electrical experience is required.
* Ability to understand hydraulic and electrical schematics is required.
* 1 Year Fabrication Experience is preferred.
* 1 Year Welding experience preferred.
* ASE certification is preferred.
* Waste collection equipment knowledge will be a large plus for this position.
Required License or Certification:
* Have a DOT (non-CDL) medical card or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.
* CDL preferred but not required.
