General Description

Responsible for the planning and supervision of the ACT and One Stop Departments which include the following: Academic advisement, transfer advising/articulation services, academic intervention advising, and student retention projects/services provided by the Department, and front-end enrollment operations related to admissions, financial aid, and student accounts. The position supervises Associate Directors of ACT and Associate Directors One Stop Operations. The Director is responsible for the implementation of goals, data analytics and initiatives of the Student Development Division, and with the institution and all aspects of program assessment. This individual serves as a campus resource for students, faculty, Student Development staff, and Academic Affairs administrators in relation to academic advisement, enrollment and retention.

Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities
•Responsible for leadership, development, coordination and administration of programs and services provided by ACT and One stop, evaluates the effectiveness of these services in accordance with the Matrix, the Student Success Plan, and the Institutional Effectiveness Plan.
•Administers, coordinates and evaluates ACT and One Stop staff functions and responsibilities: i.e., academic advisement, transfer services, career services, overseeing the hiring, recruitment and training of ACT & One Stop student workers. Collaborating with the director of admissions, financial aid and student accounts to ensure the quality streamlining of front-end enrollment operations related to these areas Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff.
•Promote and implement a high performance and student success centered culture by setting clear goals, objectives and KPI's centered around enrollment and retention.
•Responsible for the development of dashboard reports for the general population cohort students. Able to effectively review and analyze data to develop initiatives and KPI's to increase enrollment, retention and graduation of the general population. Conducts assessments, prepares reports to enhance services provided within ACT and the One Stop.
•Design, plan, conduct and evaluate departmental assessment programs, procedures, and activities and analyze institutional effectiveness for accreditation purposes.
•Partner with the Communication Center to implement communication plan for all continuing students and analyze results to ensure meeting of strategic goals.
•Coordinates ACT and One Stop services with other departments in the Student Development Division and with other divisions of the College and ensures effective collaboration with Academic Division Deans.
•Assists the Assistant Dean with leading, developing, coordinating and administering One Stop initiatives, and evaluates the effectiveness of these services and programs, and coordinates these plans and programs in accordance with institutional strategic plans.
•Responsible for New Student Orientation program for new full-time students entering the College during the Fall and Spring semesters.
•Coordinates, monitors, and assesses Mandatory New Student Orientation on all three campuses.
•Evaluate data to identify causes of student attrition and provide recommendations for solutions, alternative systems, and procedures to increase retention to promote continuous improvement.
•Assists the Assistant Dean of Advising Career and Transfer with leading, developing, coordinating, advising and transfer programs, and evaluates the effectiveness of these services and programs, and coordinates these plans and programs in accordance with the Matrix, Strategic Enrollment Management Plan and Institutional Effectiveness Plan.
•Plan, coordinate, and monitor professional development opportunities for leadership team and staff within ACT and the One Stop.
•Ensures the design, development, and evaluation of departmental assessment programs, procedures and activities; analyzes institutional effectiveness for accreditation and planning purposes.
•Develops programs to facilitate enrollment/registration, courses and course/program requirements, transfer articulation, and dual admission agreements.
•Serves on institutional committees as it relates to department, and the Student Development Division.
•Develops benchmarks, goals, objectives, and programs consistent with those established by the Division of Student Development and the College.
•Use best practices to develop individual and group retention activities to meet the needs of a diverse student body.
•Prepares and monitors the budget for ACT.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in advising or a closely related field, supervisory experience and experience in a college setting is required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
•This position's duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work
environment, based on the activity scheduled.
•Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
•Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and extended hours when necessary.
•No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
•Some travel required.

Salary
$84,000

Terms of Employment

Flexible schedule to meet department needs. Some evening, weekends, and extended hours will be required. Ability and willingness to travel on short notice to all on and off- campus sites as needed by the college. Employee must establish primary residency in New Jersey within one year of appointment unless an exemption applies.
