The **Parking Attendant** is responsible for providing our guests with a welcoming first impression. This position is one of the first to interact with Jay Peak Resort guests while offering enthusiastic teamwork, amazing guest experience and an attitude of constant improvement and excellence. The Parking Attendant will be required to learn and understanding the daily operations of parking by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** (include the following, other duties may be assigned)

* Utilizes a high level of skill to plan the daily set up and tear down of parking lot delineator cones.

* Maintains and monitors traffic flow requirements of several guest parking areas.

* Directs all vehicles to appropriate parking areas or drop-off destinations.

* Answers guest questions regarding resort amenities and provides exceptional guest service.

* Checks vehicles for appropriate employee parking permits.

* Assists with and serves as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

* Other duties either directly or indirectly related to the position as assigned by the supervisor.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

**SALARY & INCENTIVES**

* Wages starting at $14.00 per hour

**QUALIFICATIONS**

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. **EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**LANGUAGE SKILLS**

Ability to read & comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, & memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one & small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

**REASONING ABILITY**

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

**OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES**

* Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and retain composure.

* Must have good working knowledge of the resort and surrounding areas.

* Must maintain a flexible schedule.

* Must possess physical and mental endurance to withstand extended expose to Winter conditions.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk and occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), frequently exposed to extreme cold (non-weather) and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

**RESORT CONDITIONS**

This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
