IMMEDIATE NEED! Zion Mountain Ranch is the ideal location for a chef with a passion for creating a variety of products with a focus on garden fare. Provide delicious, fresh, creative dishes at Cordwood and other cafe style locations on property. With a location bordering Zion National Park, you are sure to also enjoy all that Southern Utah has to offer. This position is responsible for creating recipes using locally sourced ingredients including our on-site farm as much as possible, and then seeing those dishes through to plating and delivery to our guests. Our made-from-scratch, farm-to-fork establishment has an emphasis on our own garden, including fresh eggs and bison proteins, as well as local, organic suppliers. Due to our dynamic property and rural location, the Chef may be asked to help with other back-of-house responsibilities. This means that flexibility is an important characteristic of applicants. The menus change seasonally and according to the farm's produce, so applicant's must be able to create new recipes and enjoy the prospect of a rotating menu. There are also occasional small group and catering requirements at Cordwood. In addition, 2 cafe style restaurants will be under the jurisdiction of the Cordwood chef to provide guests with alternate menu and dining options. We are particularly looking for someone who is wanting a commitment of time and talent into a long-term position with growth potential in the organization. This is not a seasonal or short-term position. Our establishments cater to couples, families, and large groups from around the world who are looking for memorable and healthy dining. Duties include: Sourcing, purchasing, budgeting Menu creation of healthy, delicious meals Training and leading by example Maintaining a pleasant environment of cleanliness and organization in Back of House Scheduling Assisting in hiring Attendance in resort management meetings Working directly with group bookings Close association and coordination with Front of House and Farm Managers Covering un-staffed work shifts throughout back of house Assuring that Utah health codes are met or exceeded. The ranch expects its staff to maintain high standards in actions, grooming and congeniality. The resort maintains an illegal drug and alcohol abuse free environment. Some on-site housing may be available, but providing your own RV to live in would be a welcomed option. Please plan to provide your own means of transportation, since we are in a rural area.
