**Description/Purpose of Position**
Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.
The Cook is responsible for the preparation and cooking of food items for patients, cafeteria and catering, with emphasis on quality. Follows strict sanitation guidelines set up by the State of Florida Health Department

Part of the Manatee Healthcare System, the hospital has earned The Joint Commissions Gold Seal of Approval. The 295-bed hospital with over 550 physicians, residents and allied health professionals, offers advanced healthcare services in a caring and compassionate environment. Services include cardiac care and cardiovascular medicine, emergency care for all ages, surgery services including robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci Surgical System, a weightloss program, orthopedic services, outpatient and inpatient radiology and rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep, oncology, wound care and womens and childrens services. Manatee Memorial Hospital offers a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for babies with special needs and has the only Pediatric Center in Manatee County.

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
High School graduate or GED preferred
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Institutional cooking experience required (1 3 years
Typing and basic computer skills preferred
Prefer candidate has either food handler or ServSafe Certification
